prve dojmy (treba brat s rezervou):
Received the X3 a few hours ago, so here is the promised first impression:
1) Does X3 sound good?
Yes.
2) How good it is?
Still a bit too early to say for sure, but on rough comparison, it is better than Nano 7G, Clip+ and Fuze. I'll put it at around the same level as HiSound Nova 3. One thing that is noticeably better on X3 is the power amp section, which is very tight and well controlled.
3) How good exactly is the amp section?
I plugged my new JDS Labs C5 to the line-out and compare it to the headphone-out, then realize I didn't really get much improvement from the C5. Even O2 is not that much of an improvement either. You really can go amp-less with X3 and be perfectly happy. Output impedance is about 0.4ohm btw.
4) Any major bug?
None that I have noticed. There is one occasion that the player fail to resume after stopping and switch to another menu, but a restart fixed it and I can't reproduce problem again.
5) Cover art?
Yes, it is there for the mp3 files, but not on the wma files. Haven't tested other files type yet.
6) Gapless and resume after restart?
All yes.
7) How is the GUI?
Pretty straight forward. It is not an iPod, but it is close enough.
8. How is the screen?
Not a particularly high resolution screen, but good enough for cover art to look decent on it. The color of the screen is however on the blueish, colder side, and could use a bit more saturation. But it is not for video so nothing really to complain about.
9) How is the control?
Will need some getting used to for the buttons arrangement / position, but nothing too difficult to learn.
10) Anything to complain about?
None so far. I am really impressed. I never really expect it to outperform Nano 7G or Clip+, but it does. The GUI and control are also some of the smoothest from any Chinese DAP I have tried. The only minor complain I have will be the ID3 tag reading, which isn't perfect but work most of the time.
11) How is the TF card support?
64GB SDXC formatted to FAT32 works without any problem. There are about 7GB of usable memory on board if you wonder.
I'm a quitter. I come from a long line of quitters. It's amazing I'm here at all.
